"Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides;
and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become." C.S. Lewis

Encircled
Here's to the mothers
Soul lovers
Warm faces, sweet spaces
Filling with yearning
Burning for turning
Crooked to right.
Cheers for those givers
Swift rivers
Strong holding, staunch molding
Sturdy for making
Gifted with breaking
Clean paths of flight.
Toast beauty grateful
Those faithful
Heads lowered -- steps forward
Graven with tilling
Emptied for filling:
Light unto light.
